Meet Orbit by Tix: Your World of Events

Picture this: the weekend is almost here, and you’re trying to figure out what to do with your squad. You scroll through Twitter, check Instagram, and ask around. Thirty minutes later, you've seen events that already happened, shows that are sold out, and experiences happening in parts of your city you'd never actually go to. When you finally find something that actually works, you’re over it because you spent so long searching.

We've watched this happen a lot. So we thought, what if discovering events smarter, faster, and more you?

To fix this, we’ve been building something that reshapes the Tix experience for you.

Today, we're excited to introduce Orbit by Tix. Our new mobile app where your world of events actually revolves around you.

Here's what we mean:

Events that Orbit around you

We gave the app this name because it’s literally how it works.

If you’ve used Tix before, Orbit already knows a bit about you. However, each time you interact with the app, it learns what you’re into and over time your feed gets smarter, and well, more you.

Your event feed works like TikTok or Instagram Reels. Swipe up for the next event, swipe down to go back to the previous one, and each event fills your screen with everything you need to know — date, time, venue, and starting ticket price.

You’ll no longer have to scroll past a hundred events you don't really care about, or miss that Thursday night open mic event because it got buried under all the raves. In Orbit, your feed shows you events you'll actually want to attend, happening in places around you, featuring experiences you actually care about.

Think of it as that friend who’s always outside, and knows exactly what you'd be into.

Buy tickets in seconds

You’ll barely notice you’re buying tickets on Orbit. Which, yes, might mean you end up at more events than you planned. But isn't that kind of the point? 🤭

The app remembers your details, and you can choose to save your cards. We’ve made it so that you're literally just three taps away from securing your tickets. This is especially great for those super hot events that sell out in minutes. IYKYK 😉

Your app is your ticket

You'll always see your purchased tickets in the app. The confirmation is right there from the moment you buy a ticket. Then, two hours before the event, the scannable QR code that gets you in unlocks. You'll get a push notification when it's ready, and when you open Orbit, it’ll be in the tickets section.

No more panicking at the entrance because you’re trying to find that email from three weeks ago, or scrolling through a thousand notifications looking for your ticket.

Send tickets the right way

So you bought a bunch of tickets for your squad and somehow forgot to add your friends’ emails during checkout. Now everyone's asking, "Can you send me my ticket?”

Orbit has a transfer feature that's really simple to use. Just tap transfer, enter their email address, and done. They get their own ticket, in their own app, with their own QR code. Organizers can choose when transfers are enabled for their events, ensuring every ticket exchange stays fair and secure.

This way, you can avoid standing together at the entrance of the event because only one person has all the tickets on their phone 😅 Everyone gets their own ticket, exactly as it should be.

Sold out? Check Orbit’s marketplace

Plans can often change. We know that. One day you’re hyped for an event, and the next day, something’s come up, or work got crazy. Life happens.

In the past, you would’ve had only two options:

1. Ask us for a refund, and we’d remind you of the refund policy hehe
2. Go through the hassle of selling your ticket on social media.

But now, Orbit lets you list your ticket directly in the app marketplace. Someone else who wants to attend can buy it from you, and you get your money back. Simple as that.

On the flipside, say there’s an event you're dying to attend, but it's sold out.

Again, in the past, you would’ve had only two options:

1. Give up and stay home. Watch your friends have a good time on Snapchat and wallow in FOMO.
2. Resort to Instagram or X DMs with shady ticket resellers who are very likely to scam you.

Now you can check Orbit's markeplace. Other people who can no longer make it are listing their tickets right there.

Tix marketplace is better than dodgy resellers because:

1. You can be sure the ticket is legit as we reissue a new ticket when a ticket is resold.
2. We support fair resale pricing so sellers can only resale their tickets for face value, no markups allowed.

You’ve been outside…and we’ve got receipts!

This might just be our favourite thing about Orbit. It’s called Rewind, and it’s a cool recap of your entire event history on Tix.

Yes, it’s a new app, but we know some of you are not new to this lifestyle.

So if you use the email address you’ve used to buy tickets on Tix to sign up into Orbit, Rewind shows you how many events you've attended, how much you've spent, and…well, we really don’t want to give too much away, but you should definitely check it out.

You’ll probably discover you've been to a hundred events this year, or that you’ve spent more on experiences than you thought (things we love to hear 😌).

This will be your first Rewind, but it’s a tradition now. Every year from now on, you’ll get a new one — a reminder of how much fun you had that year.
