Tix 2025 Roundup
2025 has been a year of transformation for Tix, and honestly? We're pretty proud of what we've accomplished together. This year, we kept thinking, "There has to be a better way to do this”. We thought a lot about friction. The tiny or annoying things about going out or creating events that creators, event organizers, and attendees had quietly learned to tolerate.
We worked very hard, but also had a lot of fun doing it. Here’s all the things we got up to in 2025.
Tix 3.0
The year started with a major shift on the organizer side with the launch of the Tix 3.0. Tix 3 was about giving organizers more control and better visibility into what was actually happening with their events.
So we launched with new features and updates to old ones that gave them just that. New custom question formats meant organizers could collect right information from attendees right when they’re buying tickets, not just names and emails.
Sale status messages made communication clearer, and helped organizers set expectations around ticket availability and urgency without extra manual effort.
We also included pixel tracking for Google and Meta that gave organizers the ability to properly understand where their sales were coming from, connect campaigns to conversions, and finally make data-backed decisions about their event promotions.
Together, these updates made Tix feel like the perfect HQ to actively run your event from!
A brand new invite-only flow
We completely reimagined this flow to create a better experience for you and to be more secure. Now, when you create an invite-only ticket, you simply set a password, copy the link, and share it with your guest list. That's it.
Your invitees click the link, enter the password, and redeem their tickets. You can also add a second layer of security by choosing to approve or deny everyone who tries to claim a ticket.
We know that when you're hosting exclusive events, you need to know exactly who's coming and have confidence that your guest list stays your guest list. So we completely rebuilt this to make sure of that.
Making event creators dreams come true with Tix Wishes
Creators ask for help all the time. Sometimes its wristbands, on-site support, small logistical things that don’t sound glamorous but can genuinely make or break an event day. We were already helping where we could, but we asked ourselves a simple question: what if it was a bit more fun?
That’s how Tix Wishes came to life. Instead of one-off requests and quiet favors, we created a monthly initiative where creators submit what they need, and every month, three winners get their wishes granted. A clear, transparent way for us to say: we see you, and we care about how your events run.
Widgets: Your website, your rules
We get it. You've spent time building your brand's online home, curating the experience, and having to redirect people to another site just to buy tickets takes them away from that experience.
We built widgets to solve this. Your attendees never have to leave your domain. They get to see the event details in your brand voice with your brand colors, and buy tickets right there. For creators who really want complete control over the customer journey, this is massive.
Plus, from a practical standpoint, it means better tracking. All your analytics stay in one place. You can see exactly how people are navigating your site, what content leads to purchases, and optimize your promotion based on all this.
Updates to Box Office
Not everyone wants to build a website. And even for those who do, managing multiple event links can get still get pretty chaotic. If you’re hosting several events, sharing different links across different platforms quickly becomes confusing for both organizers and attendees.
Box Office solved that problem in one move. We made some pretty cool updates to Box Office that allow you to create a no-code event homepage. A single link where you can list all your upcoming events, add descriptions, using your brand colors, and logo, and see live previews as they edit.
It’s simple and pretty powerful too. For many organizers, it’s become their default “link in bio”, and we’re so here for it!
Supporting creators with the Tix Creator Program
This one's personal for us because it represents a fundamental shift in how we think about our role in the ecosystem.
The Tix Creator Program does two things simultaneously: it supports small to medium-sized creators, and it provides event organizers with authentic promotion, branding, and marketing.
Here's how it works: We send creators to events, they create content while they're there experiencing it authentically, and they get paid for their work. The event organizers get genuine promotional content that actually resonates because it's coming from real people who are genuinely excited to be there. It's organic marketing at its finest.
Better discoverability for events
One of the quiet but meaningful changes this year was how we expanded event categories and interests. Before, events were in broad buckets that didn’t always fit, and we found out that it made discovery harder than it needed to be.
So we expanded our categories significantly. Now, creators can describe their events accurately, and attendees can find exactly what they’re looking for. Brunch is brunch. Christmas parties are Christmas parties. Niche experiences finally have names that match them.
It sounds small, but it made the experience on Tix so much better almost instantly.
Making artists more discoverable with Lineups
When you're creating an event, you can now add your lineup, and if you’re adding music artists, it integrates directly with Spotify.
Let's say Davido is performing at your event. You type his name, get a dropdown, click on his profile, and his official Spotify picture populates on your event page. It makes your event page look so much better and more professional.
But the real magic with this feature is in the discoverability. Because these lineups are searchable within our Orbit app, when someone searches for Davido, your event shows up. If they're a fan who wants to see him perform live, they can find you. It's opened up this whole new discovery pathway that benefits both artists and event organizers.

Taking care of ourselves at Pause & Reset
Right before December madness kicked off, we did something intentionally slow. We created our very own event, Pause & Reset, an event where everyone could slow down, breathe, and prepare mindfully for the year ahead. We did some mindful activities like vision boarding, macramé bag making, and a sustainable pop up with our partner, VYNT.
It reminded us that events are truly the best way to connect with your community, and they don’t always have to be high-energy to be meaningful. Sometimes, the best experiences are the ones that give people space. And we’re really excited to do more of this in 2026.
A refreshed check-in experience
We sunset the old organizer app this year, because we wanted to rebuild it properly. In the meantime, we launched or web scanner, scan.tix.africa, a refreshed check-in experience that works on any device.
The old Android app was on a break, and we heard some organizers were frustrated by device limitations. So now, you can use your iPhone, Android phone, tablet, laptop, whatever you have. It’s fast, reliable, flexible, and removes a huge pain point for handling on-site event operations.

The Orbit App: The biggest shift of the year
And then there's Orbit, our new mobile app for event attendees. This was by far our most ambitious launch for the year, and probably the clearest expression of where we’re headed.
Orbit is a mobile app designed for people who love experiences, built like a social feed for events. It learns from what you buy, what you like, and what you ignore. Over time, it gets smarter, showing you events you’re actually likely to attend.
Your tickets live in the app, so no more frantically searching your email inbox while standing in line. You can search by interests (Christmas parties, brunches, pottery classes), location, ticket prices, date, whatever matters to you.
We believe its the future of event discovery, and watching people use it and love it has been incredibly validating. If you don’t have it yet, you should really give it a try! Download it now.
Meet Orbit, our new mobile app that completely reimagines what going out should feel like.

We showed up everywhere
Most of all, we were proud to be the ticketing platform for a lot of absolutely incredible events this year. Global Citizen with John Legend as the headliner, Afrofuture, a whole month of activities with Spotify Greasy Tunes, Abula Festival, Cultur FM, Djames live in Lagos, and so many more celebrations of creativity and community across Africa.
Being part of these moments, and having so much fun while doing it, reminds us why Tix exists in the first place. To create better event experiences for everyone.

Looking Forward
So that's 2025. Thousands of events, millions of tickets, and countless memories created. But more than the numbers, what matters is that we built things that actually help people.
We've already thought deeply about 2026, because the work is never done. There's always a better way and a more delightful experience waiting to be created. And we can’t wait to get to work on cool tech and initiatives that help you sell more tickets in 2026.
Thanks for an incredible year. The next one will be even better!
